Just Jenna…

I feel incredibly lucky to say that I truly love what I do. I specialise in natural, relaxed documentary wedding photography and family lifestyle photography in Derbyshire, although I have photographed across the length of the country, from Northumberland to Devon.

My approach is all about capturing every moment of your special day; the big emotions, the quiet in-between glances, and the genuine connections that make your story unique.

I especially love weddings; there is nothing quite like documenting a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. As my style is based on capturing the true experience of any day, you are most likely to find me lurking in the shadows, lying in puddles, or perched precariously atop a ladder. Basically, whatever it takes to capture the real day, not just the staged shots.

My journey into photography began many years ago when, as a teenager, I scoured the Yellow Pages, hunting for a company that would take me on as an apprentice. My chance came as a press photographer, where I trained with the best and earned my apprenticeship with Raymonds Press Agency in Derby.

During that time, I captured a wide range of subjects, from fast-paced sport photography with Derby County and Leicester Tigers to photographing both local and international celebrities. From there, I moved into studio and wedding photography, eventually managing a studio in Wirksworth.

These experiences shaped my style, but it was my desire to capture images out of the studio that led me to set out on my own, and I have never regretted the decision. As I said, I am incredibly lucky to be able to do the job that I love.

When I am not working, you’ll usually find me out exploring with my camera, capturing beautiful sunrises and sunsets and exploring all of the stunning countryside that the UK has to offer.

Usually, when out exploring nature, I have my two collies, Luna and Minnie, by my side. I am also a busy mum with a teenager who loves drumming and a nine-year-old wild child who shares my spirit for nature and the outdoors.

We couldn’t be more thrilled with the work Jenna did for our wedding! She absolutely nailed everything we asked for and more. From the candid moments to the beautifully staged shots, every photo was stunning and captured the essence of our day perfectly.
